Philosophy
We are all capable of healing ourselves naturally. In order to do that, we need to acknowledge that our emotional state manifests in the body, and that the way we treat our bodies directly impacts how we feel. Then, we can learn from pain and disease, accepting that they are clues designed to help us understand the ways in which we have become unbalanced. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, and craniosacral therapy are highly effective at restoring balance because they are approaches to health that recognize the interconnectedness of body, mind, and emotions, and work with our natural disposition to heal.
Education
Joy has been building a successful private practice since 2005. She decided to pursue her long-standing passion for natural health and healing in 2001, and enrolled in the acupuncture program at the Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine (ITCM) in Toronto. She finished at the top of her class in 2004, and promptly began her acupuncture internship with the Ontario Association of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (OAATCM). Committed to deepening her understanding of Chinese Medicine, Joy also continued her studies at the ITCM in the herbal medicine program during this time. In 2010, Joy studied Craniosacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute, and since then it has become an integral part of her practice as well.
